When first installing Pyxis Modbus (digital) Inline probes each probe will need to be programmed with a unique address. This is the slave address.
This programming is accomplished using ZEUS software. No additional equipment or software is required.
NOTE you must be using THOR compatible Pyxis Brand Modbus probes. To determine if a Pyxis Probe is THOR compatible please refer to the article found at the following link.
All THOR compatible probes ship with the same starter address. This is required so that the THOR digital controller will be able to identify the probe during initial installation. As all probes ship with same starter address only ONE new unprogrammed probe may physically attached to the modbus cable. Once the first probe has been programmed with an address of 1-8, THEN and ONLY THEN can the next probe be physically attached to the cable. The first probe may be left on the cable as the address of the first probe has been changed from the default starter address and will not conflict with second probe. This process is repeated until all probes have been programmed.
If multiple probes all with the factory set starter address are connected to the cable at the same time unexpected results will occur and programming will fail.
Please see the video tutorial on Adding Modbus Probes for detailed instructions for adding and programming Pyxis brand Modbus probes here:

For detailed instruction on how to physically connect Pyxis probes to the Modbus cable please refer to the article found at the following link
At some future point if you are adding a new probe (not replacing one) you do not need to remove any of the existing probes. The existing probes have had their address changed to a value of 1 - 8, these addresses will not conflict with the factory set starter address of the new probe.
See Replacing Modbus Probes for detailed instructions when replacing or taking a probe out of service.
