Claiming and Naming a controller

Claiming and Naming a controller

Claiming a controller is the first step in setting up a new installation. This process will associate the controller to the SITE and LOCATION and will associate the controller to your organization.

To claim a controller you will need the SERIAL NUMBER and CHECK CODE. These two numbers can be found on the label on the inside of the cover and also on the shipping box. These two values create a unique pair and will both be entered to validate the equipment during the claim process.

To claim a controller first navigate to the desired SITE and LOCATION where you will be installing the controller. If the SITE and/or LOCATION have not yet been created you will need to first complete the SITE and LOCATION, then you will be able to claim controller.

Once you have navigated to the SITE/LOCATION then select the CLAIM CONTROLLER button

From the pop up page complete form:
1. Select the location from the drop down
2. Name - this is where the name is created. The Name can be edited at a later time
3. Serial Number - enter all 6 digits (this includes the leading zeros). Do not enter any letters in this field
4. Check Code - enter 4 digit check code
then select the CLAIM button

A pop up TOASTER will appear at the top of the page confirming the CLAIM. The controller will now be visible in the Site Inventory and is now ready to be programmed.
