THOR digital controllers offer a variety of Feed Types meeting many feed application requirements.
Below is a list of available feed types. For more details for a specific feed type and related feed options please see the article for that specific feed type.
DIGITAL FEEDS - Powered relay
1. Value Feed - sometimes referred to as a setpoint.
2. Period Feed - sometime referred to as Time & Percent
3. Scheduled Feed - sometimes referred to as Biocide Feed
4. Cycles Feed - using two conductivity inputs to adjust cycles based on dynamic make up water conductivity values
5. Linked Feed - sometimes referred to as feed after or feed and bleed
6. Flow Feed - feed based on amount of gallons from a connected meter
7. Time Proportional
8. Intermittent Sample Feed - typically used in boiler applications. Provides for sample and cooling time
9. Bleed by Volume - requires two connected meters
10. Alarm Relay - triggers relay when an alarm condition exists on the controller. Typically used to drive a local visual and/or audible alarm.
Options vary by feed type, certain feeds offer one or more of the following options the user may select when configuring the feed type.
a) slug feed - manual mode or manual feed
b) lockouts
c) lock out after feed, or additional lockout
d) pre-bleed, or bleed and feed
e) output modulation (period and percent)
f) spike feed
MODBUS TCP IP
Thor comes with MODBUS TCP/IP standard. The user will need to set the subnet in the LAN settings and connect to the local Network using the included Ethernet port inside of the digital controller. This is an RJ45 connection. See the article titled MODBUS TCP/IP for more information and the MODBUS programming supplement.
With the purchase of an optional Analog Module the following feeds are also available:
Analog output
1. Proportional output control - requires a compatible pump
2. PID control - operator required to have working knowledge of PID control
3. Retransmit - transmitting 4-20mA current to a third party system
